What's it all about?
Influenced by the legendary haunts of the Sixties glitterati - The Scotch of St. James, The Bag O’ Nails, The Ad Lib - The Dirty Mac is bringing back the sophisticated night out for the more discerning music fan, inviting the cool crowd down to the dancefloor for a night that celebrates the decade that changed the world.
Every month, The Dirty Mac will present live bands, who will perform their own hits plus a choice selection of Sixties covers, and DJs, playing the songs you would have heard within the hallowed walls of the clubs of choice of London's finest artists. The Dirty Mac will endeavour to present new music in a contemporary vibe, to an elite audience of London’s music lovers and industry. It champions emerging talents and heralds them as the names we’ll revere forty years from now.
The Dirty Mac House Band will be present every night to provide a selection of Sixties hits - some reproduced faithfully, some careering off in psychedelic realms of possibility – to back guest singers, and to supply the soundtrack to the evening highlight - live karaoke of Sixties staples.
The Dirty Mac is the brainchild of three music obsessives who were born too late: Simon Harper, editor and founder of Clash Magazine, Nick Wright, founder of Another Music = Another Kitchen club night and record label, and David Adcock, marketing manager at Columbia Records. The club consolidates their shared experiences and brings the booming sounds of the beat generation back to Wardour Street. |
